Wastewater characterization is an important aspect of treating sewage, industrial effluents, and wastewater for the urban sector. Wastewater characterization enables us to identify the different parameters present and quantify the same. Treatability of wastewater is important for designing and operating newer treatment plants. At our facility, we carry out physico-chemical and biological treatability of wastewater. Jar tests and benchtop treatability studies arrive at settling rates and biodegradation rates allowing us to arrive at the required design parameters.
Wastewater characterization and treatability studies are carried out to check the feasibility of the treatment technology. Pilot studies check both factors generate data required for design parameters and look for operational challenges. Pilot studies are conducted for areas where wastewater treatability poses a challenge. Thermax offers pilot studies at site locations for urban and industrial wastewater segments.
